Solea® Sleep only treats snoring, however, our dentist can use the Solea laser to treat gum disease, cavities, and more. To learn more, check out our page on it here. But for now, back to snoring.

Snoring

Snoring is caused by air passing by relaxed tissues in the back of your mouth causing them to vibrate. There are other causes of snoring such as sleeping on your back, increased alcohol intake, certain medications, and others. If one of those causes your snoring, then try sleeping on your side, decreasing your alcohol intake, or ask your doctor about alternate medications you can take.

Snoring itself isn’t generally a serious condition, but it can be an indicator of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) which can be a life-threatening condition. Solea Sleep only treats snoring, so if you’re concerned about OSA ask your dentist for an airway evaluation and they may refer you to a physician or specialist.

Solea Sleep Treatment

During Solea Sleep treatment, our dentist will tighten the tissue of your soft palate which decreases vibrations ultimately lessening or getting rid of your snoring altogether. Solea Sleep treatment requires only one appointment and the procedure takes only five minutes.

Other laser sleep treatments generally take four appointments each lasting about half an hour, that’s 24 times longer than Solea Sleep! Alternative treatments are surgically invasive that require anesthesia and longer recovery periods. Solea Sleep treatment provides immediate relief so you and your significant other can sleep soundly throughout the night.
